Collage, Climate & Conversation Workshops

ArtKeeper Project - HOTA

In November along with HOTA I put a call out to all environmental thinkers and anyone with a great imagination. They were invited to join a free collage workshop and conversation with with myself as part of the ArtKeeper project.

There were two workshop dates offered, one tailored to adults and the other tailored to younger children. We supplied all the materials and tips to create fantastical collages showing ways in which flora and fauna could evolve and develop to survive imminent extremes. Posing questions like ‘Will camels need to grow wings to fly across large bodies of water?’ or ‘Will cats need heat resistant shells to beat the increasing temperatures?’.

Together, we explored the extremes of evolution and climate change, and imagined possible futures.

The workshops and conversations were part of a collaborative process contributing to the basis of larger sculptures and creation of a body of work to generate thought and discussion on our feasibility to survive the coming changes in our current physiology.

Presented by HOTA, Home of the Arts as part HOTA’s ArtKeeper public program.
