Surface Festival
Miami Street Art Festival
Surface Festival - July 2021
The first inaugural Miami Street Art Festival, SURFACE, cemented Miami as a local arts and creative hub of the Gold Coast. With licks of paint and splashes of colour, the laneways, concrete walls, fences and footpaths were taken over by visual artists.
In June a creative call was put out to invite artists to apply for a fence line exhibition and mural installation centred in the suburb of Miami Gold Coast. The suburb was transformed with many locals putting their hands up to feature artworks installed along their fence line in the first weeks of July.
Two of my works were selected to be in the fence line exhibition along with many other talented artists of various mediums. The works I submitted were a digital illustration titled ‘Serotonin’ - 2021, and an image of a ceramic vase I created titled ‘Bin Better’ - 2020, photographed by Samuel Leighton-Dore.
